______

The Druskininkai region is famous not only for its unique natural springs, but also for its art and traditional culture. The Druskininkai Cultural Center folklore ensemble “Stadałėłė” was formed in 1994 at the initiative of its director Lina Balčiūnienė. The ensemble members are the continuers of the tradition, having preserved the customs, songs, dances, and stories of the Dzūki region. The traditional Dzūki worldview, which is felt in the collective’s repertoire and its performance, gives meaning to the ensemble members’ being together. And it doesn’t matter at all that the ensemble members come from different districts of Dzūkija, each bringing a piece of their local, rural traditional culture, enriching the ensemble’s dowry chest. Songs, dances, circles, games, stories, and small folklore are enough to prepare programs on various topics. “Stadałėłė”, as one of the best continuers of the traditions of the Dzūkija region, is constantly invited to participate in the Lithuanian Song Festival Folklore Day program. Performances at municipal, regional, republican events, and international festivals are the daily concert activities of the collective. They would not be possible without regular gatherings, accompanied by beautiful dialect words, melodious songs, fun circles and dances, and customs cherished in everyday life.

For its active and meaningful activities, the folklore ensemble “Stadałėłė” was nominated as the best Lithuanian rural folklore ensemble in 2007 and became the laureate of the “Golden Bird”. In 2009, the ensemble was awarded the Diploma of the Cultivator of Culture of Druskininkai. The collective was awarded the highest first category of amateur art.

The event will be filmed, photographed, and publicized.
